Sbno1 regulates Yeats4 transcription in neurons. Yeats4 contributes NHEJ to repair genome DNA. Sbno1-deficiency decreases Yeats4 expression and impairs NHEJ, leading to DNA damage accumulation, and subsequently causes sporadic apoptosis of neurons.
