A. Single-cell RNA expression data were used to cluster cells and assign cell types as described in the methods section. Uniform manifold approximation and projection (umap) dimensions 1 and 2 for each cell type are shown. B. Light damage led to a distinct separation of the rod clusters in comparison to control conditions (see rod—cluster 1 and 2 and rod cluster 4 and 5). In addition, a new rod cluster was evident under light damage conditions (rod cluster 5). C Expression of cell-type markers (columns) vs. identified clusters (rows) as shown in (A).
