Expression of specific autophagy, apoptosis, and ferroptosis markers was assessed by western blot. Results outlined a common activation of autophagy that induced a ferroptotic or apoptotic RCD through the modulation of mTOR/survivin/SLC7A11/GPX4 or mTOR/survivin/CASP-3/BAX pathways, respectively. Densitometry from three independent experiments was reported as histogram. One-sample t-test was used to evaluate statistical significance (*p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, ***p < 0.001). Housekeeping genes used for normalization were ACTB, GAPDH, α/β-Tubulin, and vinculin, according to molecular weight of target proteins on the blot.
