Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images of pristine GO (a), Gamble-GO (b), and ALF-GO (c) incubated in Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium (DMEM) containing 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) for 24 h showing that the three materials exhibited different manners of aggregation in the medium. Particularly, Gamble-GO aggregated in a layer-to-layer manner, whereas ALF-GO favored the formation of edge-to-edge aggregates
