Tetracenomycin Y, a plant growth-promoting tetracenedione from a rare actinomycete of the genus Acrocarpospora

Abstract

A new tetratecenedione, tetracenomycin Y (1), was isolated from the culture extract of an actinomycete Acrocarpospora sp. RD005083. The structure of 1 was determined by analyzing NMR, UV, and MS data in comparison with known tetracenomycins. Compound 1 promoted radicle elongation of germinated lettuce seeds at the concentrations around 1 ~ 10 μg ml−1.
