The disease segregates as an X-linked recessive trait conditioned by the viral infection. Relatives mutated but not yet infected are at risk of severe COVID-19 if infected. Families on the left are reported in Fallerini et al. [40]. Families on the right are reported in Mantovani et al. [50].
