The above figure represents a Maximum Likelihood phylogeny which was generated from whole mitochondria (excluding non-genic region) of An. farauti, An. hinesorum and An. irenicus. Node values represent support from 1000 bootstrap replicates. Populations identified using nuclear microsatellites that are monophyletic are shown in colours, as represented throughout the manuscript. An irenicus samples mostly form a well-supported monophyletic clade except for the individual highlighted by the arrow.
