The photos were taken 3 h post application of 10 µl of Pectobacterium brasiliense (Pb) suspension (108 CFU/ml, OD600 = 0.1) onto the leaf surface. The leaves were allowed to dry for 3 h at room temperature in a laminar flow hood, before fixation in 70% ethanol overnight, followed by dehydration with 90, 95, and 100% ethanol. The scale for each image is given in µm, and the resolution is designated at the top
