Steady-state transcript levels for the phytoalexin synthesis genes PAL, RS, and StSy were measured after 1 h treatment with 1 µM of the bacterial elicitor flg22 or 0.1% DMSO as solvent control, following pre-treatment with either 2% DMSO or 10 mM BA, or with 0.1% DMSO for half an hour. Elongation Factor 1-α (EF1-α) served as internal standard for quantification. Data represent means and standard error from three biological replicates with three technical replicates each. Means denoted by different letters are significantly different at P < 0.05
