(a) Normalized leaf age was calculated by taking into account the age of the rosette leaves at the start of the experiment, the sampled time point, and the stage of the sampled leaf. The application of this model to each leaf sample is shown below, where each grid number represents a leaf’s normalized age value. As an example, this model is applied to the expression patterns of two example genes (b) KMD1 and (c) CYCD1;1.
