A putative enoyl-CoA hydratase contributes to A. xylosoxidans biofilm formation via biosynthesis of a fatty acid signaling metabolite. A. xylosoxidans biofilms were grown for 72 h, quantified using crystal violet and normalized to cell density (biofilm index). Deletion of echA resulted in a significant decrease in biofilm biomass that was restored via complementation and addition of cis-DA.
