Skeleton formulae of the three inhibitors are shown in d and e; for SH-BimMe the thiol tautomer is shown, although the thione tautomer is more stable in the solution; our DFT calculations further reveal that in the adsorbed state SH-BimMe exists either as thiolate or thione, but not as thiol29.
