The absolute amount of water in the model is shown in blue. The residual amount of water (dashed black line) is slightly decreasing due to porosity changes. The integrated contributions to water decrease are marked as negative to indicate that they are subtracted from the amount of water. The decrease is caused by the consumption of water due to (bio-)chemical reactions and the flux of water vapor and liquid water from the drum to the atmosphere through the open top. Dashed lines marked with black crosses are values calculated with a refined mesh (up to 50 years only).
