In 0.6 M NaCl: Initially, at 2 hours, the corrosion mechanism included the oxidised layer, the diffusion process, and exposed material. Between 24 and 72 hours, the passive film process was added to the corrosion mechanism. At 96 hours, the mechanism remained similar to that at 2 hours.
