The Raman maps were obtained at ~ 610 cm−1 in the (xx) polarization configuration. The polar plots measured in the parallel (a–c) and cross (d–f) polarization geometries are displayed. The solid circles from 0° to 180° are experimental data, and the empty circles from 180° to 360° are the repetition of the data from 0° to 180° in order to construct the polar diagram. g The fitting functions consist of two planes perpendicular to each other. The blue (red)-boxed terms indicate (010)C ((100)C)-oriented JT planes, as displayed in the schematics above the formula. h The definition of the director, which is parallel to the JT planes.
