F1 is associated primarily with peritoneal B1 cells shortly after vaccination. Representative dot plot and histogram analyses of gated cells isolated from the peritoneal cavity of C57BL/6J mice injected with alum (red histogram, n = 3) or with labeled F1 (polymeric form, 80 μg/mouse, blue histogram, n = 6). Isolated cells were stained with markers that identify peritoneal B2 cells (B220hiCD23+) and B1 cells (B220midCD23-). B-cell populations were examined for staining with the labeled F1 (blue histograms) vs. background (red histograms)
