a, Magnetite (Mag) occurs both as clusters of framboids and spherical aggregates. The dominant, fine-grained dark material comprises intergrown serpentine and saponite (Serp/Sap). The fine-grained dark matrix represents intergrown serpentine and saponite. b, A large number of relatively coarse-grained dolomite crystals (Dol) are present along the right-hand edge. Sulfide crystals (Sulf) of varying grain sizes can also be seen. Scale bars, 25 μm.
