  1. aIndividuals were enrolled as confirmed TB cases if diagnosed by M.tb liquid culture and/or Gene Xpert Ultra (Xpert). LTBI patients did not have a positive culture or Xpert result but were determined to have TB infection by QuantiFERON (QFT), IGRA or T-SPOT.TB.
  2. Non-TB controls were recruited from household contacts of TB index cases who were asymptomatic or had TB excluded following resolution of mild symptoms or additional tests, and evaluated at 2 and 6 months after enrollment to confirm TB exclusion decisions.
