  1. The second and third columns show the FUS LC client EIs as calculated throughout the manuscript using the max 488 nm pixel in each channel as the peak value in EI calculation (along with 95% confidence intervals). The fourth and fifth columns show values if EIs were instead calculated by averaging all 561 nm pixel values within the thresholded LAF-1 RGG condensate, frequently averaging in artificially low values due to variability in signal (also with 95% confidence intervals). Due to low expression, mutants +20Tyr and +30Tyr were analysed using a different technique and could not be quantified with this alternative procedure (see Methods).
