Panels (a) and (b) illustrate the relationships between RTS recovery time and mean annual precipitation and air temperature, respectively. Grey bars show the standard deviation of the mean recovery time for each ecosystem. Each dot represents one ecosystem. The sample sizes for obtaining the recovery time are labeled in (a). Outlier sites CQ and WQ, despite relatively warm and wet conditions, exhibit delayed recovery dominated by graminoid vegetation compared to other sites with similar climates.
