Positive (brown) values indicate the amount of WY precipitation going to the canopies to the sacrifice of runoff; negative (blue) values show the opposite. Bolded lines in each regional time series panel signify signal emergence ( > 1) of the ensemble mean (μ/σ) in that year from the baseline (1976–2005).
