The dashed black line refers to the MAR and the triangles show the locations of the OBSs used for this study. The bold black line passing through the OBSs shows the part of shot profile used here, and the two pink bars indicate the boundaries of the seismic images shown in Fig. 2. The thin black line and numbers indicate the distance from the MAR. The contour labelling 10 indicates the 10 Myr lithospheric age26. The bathymetry was taken from ref. 14.
