The total area of vegetation (not to scale) detected within each bioregion (black outlines), displayed by the relative size of the pie charts, which are scaled by the median value of each interval range. The proportion of green vegetation, lichens and green snow algae in each bioregion is shown within the pie charts. The polar hole is displayed south of 82.8° S, where no imagery was available. The Antarctic coastline layer was retrieved from the Antarctic Digital Database Version 7.0 (http://www.add.scar.org/) and the bioregion layer from https://data.aad.gov.au/aadc/biodiversity/index_regions.cfm.
