One week of travel by the woman (a) and man (b) in our sample who rates of exploring land most closely matched gender averages. The tracks of the man in plot b intersected 7,188 10 m2 raster cells, while those of the woman in plot a intersected 2,780 cells. In addition to reaching more unique areas of the landscape, the travel of (b) was also more sinuous.
