The measured tensile responses for the (c) \(\bar \rho\) = 0.1 and (d) \(\bar \rho\) = 0.02 specimens in the x, y and z− directions. Predictions based on the measured properties of a single strut (Supplementary Fig. 2) are included in (c) and (d). (e) The specimen cut into 27 sub-cubes and (f) uniaxial tensile tests were conducted on each cube along the (g) z− direction. The measured responses are shown in (h) and (i) for the \(\bar \rho\) = 0.1 specimen with two different choices of unit cell dimensions. The shaded zone depicts the variation over the 27 sub-cubes with the solid line the mean measured response.
