a, Nuclei exhibit typical chromatin structure before local activation, whereupon chromatin becomes depleted in regions where droplets form. b. Outside of regions containing droplets (lower row), chromatin structure is unperturbed with respect to typical U2OS cells. Multiple droplets can be formed in a single nucleus given a sufficient concentration of material.
