T cell nomenclature: from subsets to modules

In a recent consensus statement, leaders in the T cell field came together to propose guidelines for T cell nomenclature. This Poster from Nature Reviews Immunology provides an overview of both the current subset-based nomenclature for T cells and the newly proposed modular nomenclature for T cells. The modular nomenclature has been designed to increase the precision and brevity of descriptors for different T cell populations. For full details of the nomenclature proposals, see the Guidelines for T cell nomenclature.

This poster is freely available online thanks to support from STEMCELL Technologies.

The poster is based on a peer-reviewed consensus statement Guidelines for T cell nomenclature.
