a, This circuit was used to produce the data presented in Fig. 5c. The different background colors indicate the different parts of the sequence (yellow – initialization, green – manipulation (including the tomography pulses), blue – readout). The sequence could be made much shorter if we would parallelize the readout operations. We did not implement this, since this is not the limiting factor (tread < < T1).
