(b) Fitted rise times of the pump-induced MOKE signals (circles) and the equilibrium phonon lifetimes (squares) as a function of temperature. The rise times are extracted from the fits of the data to Eq. 23. The phonon lifetimes are determined from the inverse linewidth of the modes in infrared vibrational spectra taken at different temperatures (Extended Data Fig. 10).
