The dendrogram shows representative word projections, with the branches truncated to allow for visualization. Words that were connected by fewer links in the hierarchy have a smaller cophenetic distance. b, A t-stochastic neighbour embedding procedure was used to visualize all word projections (in grey) by collapsing them onto a common two-dimensional manifold. For comparison, representative words are further colour-coded on the basis of their original semantic domain assignments in Fig. 1c.
