Top: abundant metals (Mg, Zn, Mn), and Bottom: more rare metals (Cu, Lu, Ag). Some MOFs contain more than one type of metal. All these metals are considered in the KPI MR:MM and can lower the ranks significantly. A combination of two or three metals is, for example, contained in the worst-performing Manganese (Mn) materials, leading to their bad performance in MR:MM compared to the other materials containing the same metal.
