- This table displays population characteristics of Michigan and the United States as a whole for the year 2010 or academic year 2010-11. Demographics and college readiness (SAT and AP) statistics come from Michigan administrative data used in this paper, students who began 3rd grade in public school within the years of 2007 and 2012 and progressed through grades 3 through 8 on time. Demographic data from the United States Census Bureau 2010 Decennial Census. School investment data, including % of students eligible for FRPL, from the National Center of Education Statistics’ Digest of Education Statistics. Mean household income data from the 2010 American Community Survey. Test score data from the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) administered in 2011. All college readiness measures are for the 2016-2017 academic year. SAT data for the US is from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). AP enrollment data for the US is from the College Board, which refers to public school students only. College enrollment data is from the National Information Center for Higher Education Policymaking and Analysis (NCHEMS).
