In the version of the article initially published, there was a duplication of the same frame between the H&E staining image of “LCA minus, CTX-injured muscle” in Extended Data Fig. 3c and the “iso-LCA plus, CTX-injured muscle” in Extended Data Fig. 7j. The image in Extended Data Fig. 7j was incorrect and has been amended in the HTML and PDF versions of the article and additional source data is now included online. The misplacement does not affect any conclusion of the paper.
