Individual metastases were identified on computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging scans performed during routine clinical management and collected as part of TRACERx. a, The volume of each metastasis (y axis, circle) was measured on serial scans (vertical dashed black lines) allowing changes in volume to be tracked over time (x axis). b, For each interval between two consecutive time points, the growth rate (log(mm³/day)) was calculated for each metastasis using either CT scans for the extra-cranial metastases (solid lines) or MR imaging scans for the brain metastases (dashed lines).
