The right shows a canonical density map from 3DFlex with the same local resolution color scale. Both maps are locally filtered, sharpened identically and displayed at the same threshold level to simplify visual comparison of map quality. 3DFlex exhibits clear improvement in map structure in regions indicated in the vicinity of the flexible arm of the protein (dashed outline) and in flexible Fabs (red markers) b–d, Convected densities from 3DFlex at minus one (red) and plus one (blue) standard deviations in the latent space (d) along coordinate axes for dimensions 1 (b) and 2 (c). The motion of the arm is captured mainly by the second latent dimension.
