Gradient descent and the genetic algorithm were run for fifty iterations and with 1,000 simulations per step (in parallel on GPU). The gradient descent fit with reduced budget (light blue) was run for ten iterations and ten simulations per step. Scalebars: 200 ms and 30 mV.
