The ALM exhibits divergent and convergent reciprocal connectivity with the cerebellar cortex. Conjunction regions link ALM inputs with cerebellar outputs targeting the ALM and maintain preparatory activity through reciprocal communication with the ALM. Regions outside this loop could not sustain preparatory activity and contribute little to motor planning behavior.
