Layer-wise Spearman correlations between the DNN AlexNet and visual cortex. Horizontal dash lines indicate the noise ceiling within each age group and ROI, rather than normalisation, as division by a low reliability score in some individual regions is not valid. This would artificially inflate the resulting correlation when visual responses are not consistent across the group for this region. The sampling distribution of Spearman correlations was estimated using bootstrap resampling across individual subject/run pair RSMs (2-months (n = 101): 14108 unique subject/run pairs, 9-months (n = 44): 1995 pairs, adults (n = 17): 136 pairs).
