Both of these datasets represent snow accumulation, which is used as an equivalent to precipitation in the absence of total precipitation datasets. (a) Shows the GRIP ice-core and (b) the GISP Ice-core. The associated reference and lat/lon position for each dataset is given above each panel. Mismatches in the timing of abrupt events are due to updates to the Greenland ice-core chronologies since the publication of these two records.
