Mato Grosso (Brazil) is dominated by cattle ranches and large-scale agriculture, Manica province (Mozambique) is dominated by shifting agriculture in dry miombo woodlands, Aysén (Chile) is dominated by undisturbed temperate evergreen and deciduous forests, and Vancouver Island (Canada) is dominated by areas of active logging and old secondary forests, as well as vast expanses of temperate old-growth forests.
