Feature

Simplified Meaning

MFCCs

Mel-frequency cepstral coefficients: Extracts the power spectrum of bins of frequencies. The bins are spaced according to the MEL perceptual scale.

RMS Energy

Root mean square energy of the signal.

Pitch

The perceived frequency of the signal.

Spectral Centroid

The centre of mass of the frequency spectrum.

Spectral Bandwidth

The width of the frequency spectrum.

Zero Crossing Rate

The rate at which the signal changes sign.

Spectral Roll-off

The frequency below which a certain percentage of the signal’s energy is contained.
