SS_actual_B

Column B mean value of the supersaturation actual values corresponding to the mean filtered NCCN,B (see N_CCN_mean_STP_B) (%). Referred to as mean SSact,B in manuscript text.

N_CCN_mean_STP_B

Column B mean value of the high resolution NCCN,B for each mean SSact,B, filtered to only include the values between the 25th and 75th percentile of the high resolution NCCN,B values for the file averaging time (5-min or 1-h). Converted to STP (see P_CCNC_B, T_CCNC_B) (cm3). Referred to as mean NCCN,B in manuscript text.

P_CCNC_B

CCNC column B sample pressure. Mean value of the pressure of the mean filtered NCCN,B (see N_CCN_mean_STP_B) (hPa).

T_CCNC_B

CCNC column B sample temperature. Mean value of the temperature of the mean filtered NCCN,B (see N_CCN_mean_STP_B) (oC).

Q_sample_B

CCNC column B sample flow. Mean value of the volumetric flow rate of sample air of the mean filtered NCCN,B (see N_CCN_mean_STP_B) (cm3min1).

Q_sheath_B

CCNC column B sheath flow. Mean value of the volumetric flow rate of sheath air of the mean filtered NCCN,B (see N_CCN_mean_STP_B) (cm3min1).

N_CN_CPC_STP_B

Total particle concentration from CPC at STP temporally matched with mean filtered NCCN,B. Converted to STP with P_CCNC_B and T_CCNC_B (cm3). Referred to as Ntot,CPC in manuscript text.

N_CN_SMPS_STP_B

Total particle number concentration calculated from SMPS size distribution at STP. Mean value of 5-min/1-h SMPS measurement (cm3). Referred to as Ntot,SMPS in manuscript text.

Critical_diameter_B

Critical diameter calculated with N_CCN_mean_STP_B and the corresponding time period of SMPS data (nm). Referred to as Dcrit in manuscript text.

Kappa_B

Hygroscopicity parameter obtained from Dcrit and Eq. 4. Referred to as κCCN in manuscript text.

Activation_fraction_CPC_B

Qc_CCN04_N80_B

Quality check of CCN number closure at 0.4% SS. Flag indicates comparison of N_CCN_mean_STP_B at 0.4% SS for column B CCNC and mean value of number concen- tration of particles greater than 80 nm (N80) of the corresponding time period data at STP for SMPS. Qc = 0 differences smaller than 50%; Qc = 1 differences bigger than 50%.

Qc_CPC_SMPS

Quality check of number closure. Flag indicates comparison of Ntot,SMPS and Ntot,CPC. Qc = 0 differences smaller than 50%; Qc = 1 differences bigger than 50%.
