Dashed grey lines show the position of the profiles. (A) Fluvial ridges developed on the LGM alluvial plain. (B) The study area was temporarily transformed in a lagoon protected seaward by a barrier island during the post-LGM transgression. (C) The lagoon was rapidly overstepped due to the eustatic sea-level rise and wave action produced a wave-ravinement surface. (D) The cementation of the previously deposited sandy sediments, induced by the mixing between marine and fresh water, led to formation of stable substrates that favored the growth of bio-concretionned buildups.
