Arterial wall thickening and extensive elastin degradation were demonstrated near the inner wall of the aortic arch and was accompanied by elevated OSI and RRT values in hypertensive and antihypertensive-treated SHRs. (a) Histological analysis of cross-sections of the ascending aorta and aortic arch was performed with H&E and VVG staining in the WKY-CON, SHR-CON, WKY-NIF, and SHR-NIF groups.
