Depletion of SLC4A11 impairs NRF2 mediated antioxidant responses in primary human corneal endothelial cells. Primary corneal endothelial cells were transfected with either SLC4A11 siRNA (SLC-siRNA) or nonspecific control siRNA (C-siRNA) and exposed to 500 μM tBH for 4 h, and fold changes in gene expressions of SLC4A11 (a), NRF2 (b), and antioxidant genes HO-1, NQO1 (c) were determined by quantitative PCR. These experiments were done three times in duplicates.
