Clinical and genetic characteristics of young and elderly patients with sporadic VSs. The clinical parameters of both young (n = 38) and elderly (n = 53) patients with sporadic VSs, including the age at diagnosis, gender, and tumour size, were present in the upper panel. The screening for the mutation and the copy number of the NF2 gene was performed using a combination of Direct sequencing and MLPA analysis in these cases. Five NF2-related patients were used as positive controls.
