Breaking mechanism of the C-N bond upon impact of an OH radical. This impact first results in H atom abstraction (see black dashed circle in (a)) and the formation of a water molecule, followed by the cleavage of the C-N bond (see gray dashed line in (b)), and thus the detachment of the NC3H8 + group as well as the formation of a radical site (see black dashed circle in (b)). A new OH radical can then react with this site, resulting in (c) the formation of an alcohol group.
