(A). After modification, the motor fibers from the contralateral C7 nerve (health side) allows external information input to the paralysed hand. This particular artificial neuropathway could induce interhemispheric plasticity from motor-sensory feedback during the recovery period after the peripheral nerve rewiring (PNR) procedure. (B) The preattentive information processing reflected by the mismatch negativity (MMN) in central neurological injury (CNI) patients after PNR was nearly normal.
