Effect of arsenic exposure on general parameters. Following arsenic exposure mice body weight was recorded weekly. (a) Line graph represents the changes in body weight. (b) Thymocytes and (c) splenocytes (0.1 × 106 cells/200 µl/well) isolated from mice treated with arsenic (0.00, 0.038, 0.38 and 3.8 ppm) orally for 7, 15 and 30 days were cultured at 37 °C in 5% CO2 incubator and viability was checked following 72 h incubation using Presto blue reagent. Fluorescence was measured at 544 (ex.) and 610 (em.) expressed as percent of control (n = 3–5 per group). Serum level of (d) AST, ALT and (e) urea expressed as mean ± S.E. (n = 3 per group).
