Alpha- and beta-defensins are transcriptionally upregulated in the intestine of C57BL/6 WT mice following G. muris infection. Relative mRNA expression levels of Defb1, Defa3, Defa5 and Defa22 in C57BL/6 WT G. muris infected mice were measured by qRT-PCR at day 7, 14 and 21 post infection, compared to C57BL/6 WT uninfected controls (*p < 0.05).
